Suicide bereavement support – next meeting, Wednesday 27th October

A support group to help those who have lost a loved one through suicide, will have its next meeting at 7:00pm, this coming Wednesday, 27th October.

Care and Support After Suicide (CASAS), provides an environment in which people can share their feelings and experiences in a non-judgemental and confidential environment, with the aim to help people better understand and manage their feelings and to improve their quality of life. It is an environment where people can share coping strategies to deal with their loss, talk openly about the aftermath and support each other at different stages of their journey – we all grieve in our own unique way and in our own time.

The group is open to all those over 18 who have lost a loved one to suicide, either recently or long ago in the past – remember you are not alone.

CASAS is the brainchild of local Councillor Diane Morton, who is KCC’s Mental Health Champion and a Registered Mental Health nurse. Diane said: “This is something I am truly passionate about. Suicide leaves many people struggling with their own mental health and I know these types of groups provide the much needed support”.

The meeting will take place at The Old Fire Station, Church Road, Swanscombe, Kent DA10 0HF. If you would like to book a free place, please contact Susan on 01322 389144 or email her at support@mycasas.org.uk
